Pittsfield – The Diabetes Education program at Berkshire Medical Center has started an Insulin Pump Club for people with diabetes who wear an insulin pump. The club will hold its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, January 11th at the Health Information Center at BMC, located near the hospital lobby. Refreshments will be served. People of all ages who wear an insulin pump are welcome to join the club, and friends and family members are invited to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The purpose of the Insulin Pump Club is for those who wear pumps to meet others and have the opportunity to learn about new tips and ideas, along with sharing experiences from those who have personal experience with the pumps. In addition, representatives from the Diabetes Education program will discuss the latest news in pump therapy, and club members can direct the focus of the group to meet the needs of those who attend. For more information, contact Candace Lusa, RN, Director of the Diabetes Education program at BMC, 413-395-7942.
