The gala fundraiser, "ArtCircus," will benefit the Storefront Artists Project. This year’s honorary chairmen for the evening are Caroline and James Taylor. State Sen. Benjamin B. Downing, D-Pittsfield, and artist Vaal London-Kane are co-chairmen.
The ArtCircus Honorary Committee includes Nancy Fitzpatrick, Mayor James Ruberto, Crispina, Michael Zivyak and Beth Pearson.
The entertainment will include magicians, clowns, psychic readers, fortunetellers, jugglers, yo-yo and hoop performers, a unicyclist, an aerial dancer and more.
The ringmasters are local artists Gabrielle Senza and Justin Delsignore.
DJ Tom Dog will be mixing it up for festive dancing. The entertainment portion of this event is the lion's share of the evening.
A live auction will take place during the entertainment segment of the evening. In addition, there will be a silent auction, involving many donations of works of art, gift items, certificates and more. A large portion of the contemporary art featured in the auctions will loosely reference circus culture.
Proceeds will help Storefront Artist Project fulfill its mission to bring artists and art making to underserved and diverse members of the community; to present innovative exhibitions and installations; and to provide nontraditional, visually accessible studio space for artists.
Ticket prices are $100 each (or $125 at the door), which also includes two beverages or cocktails per ticket.
Guests are encouraged to dress creatively for the ArtCircus theme or dress formally.
