Make Art for the River, May 17, 1pm to 3pm, at Northern Berkshire Creative Arts. NBCA and Hoosic River Watershed Association will collaborate for NBCA's monthly free Family Art Day. River habitats and inhabitants will be the subject of sculptures, masks and painted banners, which will be displayed at the upcoming annual Riverfest. Family Day attendees will receive free admission to Riverfest, www.hoowra.org.

NBCA Family Art Day is a fun way for parents and caregivers to work alongside their children and create art. This event is free and open to the public but you must call NBCA to register. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
