Berkshire AHEC Announces Upcoming September Programs
The Berkshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Inc. will present the following continuing education programs: “Multi Drug Resistant Micro-Organisms: Controversy & Common Sense,” on Thursday September 11th, from 1:00-3:30 pm, at The Delaney House, 3 Country Club Road, Holyoke, MA. Mary Ellen Scales, RN, MSN, CIC, Manager of the Infection Control Program at Bay State Medical Center, Springfield will highlight the current literature on multi drug resistant micro-organisms, including MRSA infections across the continuum of care.Registration and a light snack will begin at 12:30 and the program will run from 1:00-3:30pm. Berkshire AHEC is pleased to announce that 2.5 nursing contact hours have been approved by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, Inc. an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. On Thursday, September 25th, a full day conference on ”Pressure Ulcers and Chronic Wound Management” will be held at the Log Cabin Banquet & Meeting House, 500 Easthampton Road, Holyoke, MA. Vivian Seide Sternweiler, MS, RN, CWCN, Coordinator of the Wound Program at New England Sinai Hospital will present essential knowledge on the best practice approaches to the prevention, assessment and treatment of pressure ulcers and chronic wound management.
Program registration and continental breakfast begin at 7:30 am. 6.75 nursing contact hours have been approved by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, Inc. an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation and contact hours will also be offered for physical, occupational and respiratory therapists.
