NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Northern Berkshire Healthcare has scheduled two Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes on December 12 and 17 at the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire Community Room. Both classes are Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider level.
The classes are intended for healthcare professionals or students who need a Healthcare Provider level certification. Classes are scheduled for Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Thursday, December 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. The course is approved by the American Heart Association.
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider level is intended for healthcare professionals and students entering nursing, medical assistant, surgical technology and other medical fields. The course expands on the Heartsaver level and includes information on two-person rescuer CPR and rescue breathing.
Employees from REACH for Community Health at North Adams Regional Hospital have been certified by the American Heart Association to conduct the community classes.
The course uses a “practice while watching” method. The student will be given a workbook that includes a CD prior to the class. The cost of the class is $65. The fee covers the cost of instruction, the student workbook, and certification card.
