June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month

The Berkshire Humane Society and its Purradise cat center are celebrating Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month.

Throughout June, there will be special “daily” adoption fees of $75 for special cats who are 6 months and older:

* Fat Tuesday: $75 for cats over 10 pounds

* Wig Wednesday: $75 for medium or long hair cats

* Tri-color Thursday: $75 for tri-color cats

* Black Fridays: $75 for cats with 50 percent or more black fur


* Tabby Saturday: $75 for tiger cats

* Solid Sunday:  $75 for solid color cats

Plus, Adopt a Buddy, or second cat, for half the adoption fee of the first cat.

All June cat adopters will be entered into a raffle for a handcrafted scratching post and a gift basket. Tickets for the gift basket can also be purchased for $1.

Staff at both Berkshire Humane Society in Pittsfield and Purradise in Great Barrington will be offering $25 micro-chipping and $5 nail trimmings by appointment.

 Adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, ID micro-chipping, FLV/FIV testing, age-appropriate vaccinations, and more. Pittsfield Seeking Volunteers for Flag Distribution

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city of Pittsfield's Department of Veterans' Services is looking for volunteers to assist with placing flags and markers at Veterans' gravesites. 
 
The installation of flags will occur between May 6 to May 11, 2024.
 
Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable, appropriate apparel and shoes, walking will be required throughout the cemeteries to place these flags. Instructions, flags, and markers will be provided, as well as soft refreshments and snacks.
