NORTH ADMAS, Mass. — BFAIR will host a Family Fun Night at Greylock Bowl & Golf this weekend to promote community awareness and BFAIR opportunities.

The event takes place on Friday evening from 6 to 9 and includes games and raffles.

Patti Messina, chairman of the fundraising committee, said this event marks Berkshire Family and Individual Resources' 20-year anniversary.

"It is community awareness to just get people more acclimated or more aware of what BFAIR offers," Messina said. "At the end of January, we could always use something that gets us out of the house and get active."

She said tickets at $20 will pay for everything the bowling alley and Mingo's Sports Bar & Grill has to offer, which includes bowling, table-top games, board games, indoor golf, corn hole, and an appetizer buffet. She said there will also be a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar.

"They [Greylock Bowl] came highly recommended. They have done several fundraisers and events for a lot of Northern Berkshire organizations," she said. "They are very open to participate and be a part of everything. It's a great community opportunity."

Messina said it will be a great community event focused on bringing people together for a night of fun as well as fun for BFAIR clients.

"It is very important … especially for their [BFAIR] individuals. A lot of their individuals work in the community and it would be great to get some more participation from the community organizations," she said. "I have brother who is in BFAIR care and he's so excited and the whole family is looking forward to having a fun evening with him."

Although the event is not focused on generating funds for BFAIR, Messina said she hopes it creates awareness of BFAIR's annual campaign.

"We are hoping that there will be some benefit to this, but the majority of this is for awareness and fun," Messina said. "We are hoping that this will add to our annual campaign, but it is more for community awareness and to have some fun."

Tickets for Family Fun Night cost $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and younger.  For tickets, call 413-664-9382  and Ext. 15 for Deb DiDonna or Ext. 28 for Ethel Altiery.
