The Mount Welcomes the 2018 Edith Wharton Writers-in-Residence

The three finalists were selected from a pool of more than 130 applications and will be "in-residence" for two weeks in March. Their residencies will culminate with a public event, Writers in the House, free and open to the public on March 20 at 4 p.m.

Unpublished Edith Wharton Play Discovered by Scholars

The Edith Wharton Review, published by Penn State University Press, have published this finding, by Laura Rattray, a reader in American literature at the University of Glasgow, and Mary Chinery, a professor of English at Georgian Court University in New Jersey, in a journal article titled "The Shadow of a Doubt: A Play in Three Acts by Edith Wharton." The article includes the play in its entirety.

The Mountís Writers-in-Residence Program Application Deadline Nears

New this year, The Mount will be offering residency for up to three women writers. Each resident will receive a work space at The Mount, a $1,000 food and travel stipend, and lodging for the duration of their residency.
