This MHS production stars senior Jayme McGuigan of Pittsfield as Martin Vanderhof/Grandpa; junior Jasmine Briggs as Alice; and sophomore Emily Carmel of Pittsfield and junior Trudy Fadding of Glendale as Alice's parents, Penelope and Paul Sycamore. Miss Hall's School Students Recognized in National Merit Scholarship Competition

The designation means that Hou and Tagliaferro placed among the top 5 percent of the approximately 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarships, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program.

Miss Hall's School Announces AP Scholars

The AP Scholar designation means that the students earned a 3 or better — using a 5-point grading system — on three or more of the rigorous AP Exams, which are administered in May. This year, 81 MHS students sat for 172 exams in 23 subject areas, and 92 percent of those exams earned qualifying scores, according to the College Board, which oversees the AP program.

Miss Hall's School Appoints Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management

In his role, Hopkins has responsibility for all of the school's enrollment management and student recruitment efforts, including the development and implementation of strategies to meet enrollment objectives and provide outreach for Miss Hall's both locally and globally.

Miss Hall's School Graduates 49 Students

Ceremonies took place under a large tent on the front lawn of the school's Holmes Road campus. Christina Lowery, CEO of Girl Rising, a global campaign for girls' education and empowerment, delivered this year’s Commencement address. Lowery is also the granddaughter of the late Mary Thompson Austin, MHS Class of 1931.

Miss Hall's Students Named Pickett Scholars

The awards are named in memory of Mansfield E. (Peter) Pickett, who was a longtime teacher both at the former Lenox School and at Miss Hall's School. The scholarships are awarded annually to two students who exhibit outstanding performance in academics and extracurricular activities. This is the 14th year the association has honored Miss Hall's students.

Miss Hall's School Teacher Honored

Himes joined MHS in July and oversees the school's new Department of Engineering and Technology Innovation, and he directs the MHS STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) initiative. Both programs are based in the Grace Murray Hopper Innovation Lab in Linn Hall, the school's new interdisciplinary academic building.

Miss Hall's Cuts Ribbon On Campus Expansion

Miss Halls School celebrated its first major expansion in 15 years Friday, cutting the ribbon for two new buildings. The $13.5 million expansion project built a new residence hall and a new academic building. The 9,325 square-foot residence hall expands enrollment opportunities to now 250 students, up from 201 currently enrolled.
