Peter Belmonte named Executive Chef at the Orchards Hotel - February 26, 2007
Peter Belmonte has joined the Orchards Hotel as the Executive Chef. In this position Peter will be responsible for the opening of “Gala, Restaurant & Bar”, formerly Yasmin’s which will open in April.
The restaurant will feature a fusion of classic and contemporary cuisine serving breakfast lunch and dinner every day as well as Sunday brunch. He will also be responsible for the culinary delights of corporate and social events.
Peter is a Berkshire-born veteran of the Gulf War where he was attached to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower battle group as a fleet anti terrorist security team member. After the marines he trained at the New York Restaurant School in Manhattan.
Peter left the Manhattan restaurant scene to become the Executive Chef at Mezze Bistro. During his term at Mezze, they were listed in Travel and Leisure’s Essential Guide to the Berkshires as the restaurant to frequent in Williamstown. Peter opened Hunter’s, an American Grill in Bennington VT in 2003 and was most recently the Sous Chef at Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club. |
