6th annual fall show off Romance, Soul & Rock N' Roll

- September 11, 2007

Romance, Soul & Rock N' Roll, a Pittsfield based amateur musical revue has announced the dates for their 6th annual fall show. The group will perform October 4, 5 and 6, 7:30pm at Berkshire Community College's Robert Boland Theater. They will return the following week, on October 13, at 7:30pm to perform at the Colonial Theatre. Tickets for both shows are currently on sale.

Ted Concepcion, director of the group stated, the group is excited to be performing again at the BCC Robert Boland Theatre, and again at the Colonial Theatre of which was a sold out performance in 2006. All proceeds from their shows will benefit the Berkshire County chapter of the Jimmy Fund. In addition, this year's show will be performed in the memory of Cathy Soldo, who passed away in August of this year. Cathy was Vice-President of the Berkshire County Jimmy Fund board, as well as the show's liaison with the Jimmy Fund. She was truly dedicated to the objective and goals of the Jimmy Fund and to, not only Romance, Soul & Rock N' Roll, but to all the shows she participated with over the years!

Last year, RSRR raised $18,900.45. All ticket proceeds raised from the shows are used in various ways to help local families stricken with cancer

This year's show will mark the sixth that Concepcion and his Assistant Director, Donna Vidoli have produced for the charity, and he promises that this year's show, entitled "Simply The Best", will in fact, be simply the best! "I assure you that this year's show will be up to the same level of entertainment that our audiences have come to expect and look forward to."

"We have an incredible cast of singers and dancers who have been working hard perfecting yet another entertaining show with ALL NEW songs and choreography. "Concepcion's hallmark continues to be his ability to recruit and direct an impressive array of both singers and dancers. The tightly choreographed dance numbers feature an enthusiastic group of young men and women. Their energy helps drive the show from its opening number through the high energy two song opening of the second half and right into the finale.

Joining Concepcion, who not only directs and produces but also sings and dances, is a 28 member seasoned group of veteran performers, including Michele Marano, Lynn Arseneau, Lynne Mazzeo, Chris Riello as well as Scott Ellis, Jim Guzzo and Malcolm Frazer. Leading the dancers this year is Dance Captain, Kate Frissell.

The band is also as impressive as the vocal line up, and once again is under the direction of co-musical directors Dave Flynn and Alan Gold.

All in all, the talented cast and crew led by the very creative and talented Concepcion promises to be another thoroughly entertaining evening for show-goers.

The group will perform October 4, 5 and 6, 7:30pm at BCC's Robert Boland Theater. They will return the following week, October 13, at 7:30pm to perform at the Colonial Theatre. Tickets for both shows are on sale now.

Tickets for the Colonial performance may be reserved on their website, www.thecolonialtheatre.org or by calling the Colonial Box Office at 413-997-4444. Tickets for the BCC performances are available at Miller's Art Supply & Woodbros, both in Pittsfield as well as from any cast, band or crew member or by calling 413-443-4984. For more information, patrons are encouraged to call 413-443-4905.
