Sunday, September 16, 16th Sunday in Pentecost
Service of Communion at 10:30 am. The Rev. Carrie Bail will preach a sermon entitled “Burning Hot” based on the scriptures Exodus 32: 7-14 and Psalm 51: 1-10.
The Senior Choir, under the direction of Minister of Music Ed Lawrence, will perform “Munezero!” by Leonidas Ntibimenyo as the Introit and the spiritual “Peace Like a River” in an arrangement by Philip E. Baker as the Anthem.
Deacon Jinx Tong will present the Peace Candle and the Peace Letter will be blessed before it is sent off to Washington, DC. This October, the Rev. John H. Thomas, the UCC’s General Minister and President, will travel to Washington, DC, along with other church leaders, to call on the US government to end the war in Iraq. He intends to carry the Peace Letter containing the names of at least 100,000 people for peace, those who stand in solidarity with the UCC's Pastoral Letter on the Iraq War.

Wednesday: Potluck Supper at 6 pm followed by a showing of Bill Moyers’ DVD at 7 pm
Thursday: Junior Choir rehearsal at 3:15 pm
