Becket Selectmen Post Agenda for Wednesday

BECKET - The agenda for the Selectmen's meeting that begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, is:

1. 7 p.m.- Selectmen to review minutes of previous meeting(s).

2. 7:05 - Public input.

3. Selectmen to vote on appointing Martin Winters to the Conservation Commission term that expires June 30, 2009.

4. Selectmen to review letter of resignation from William Elovirta as the highway superintendent, tree warden, insect pest control, chief of police and constable effective midnight on Oct. 12.

5. Selectmen to vote to appoint William Elovirta as constable term effective Oct. 21, until next annual town election and to approve the town administrator’s appointment of Elovirta as chief of police, term effective Oct. 21 to June 30, 2008.

6. Selectmen to review letter from the office of attorney general regarding bylaw amendments adopted at the annual town meeting of May 12, 2007.

7. Selectmen to review letter from Western Massachusetts Electric Co. regarding confidential survey.

8. Invitation to Berkshire County Selectmen’s Association dinner meeting on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Flavours in Lenox.

9. Selectmen to review STAR meeting agenda for Oct. 4.

10. Selectmen to review special permit applications for reopening the Becket General Store at 30 Washington St. and for a two-bedroom house and home office at 640 Main St.

11. Selectmen to review application for a sideline variance for a proposed garage at 126 Alan A Dale Drive.

12. Selectmen to vote to set the date for trick-or-treat.

13. Monthly report of the Ambulance Department.

14. Any other business to come before the board.

15. Review crrespondence.

16. Selectmen to review payroll/expense warrants.
