Community Baby Shower at Berkshire Mall

LANESBOROUGH - The 13th annual Community Baby Shower will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berkshire Mall Center Court. This event, co-hosted by Child Care of the Berkshires, Berkshire North WIC and Reach Community Health Foundation. It is for pregnant women and their partners, parents, grandparents and others who care for young children. It is free and open to the public.

Agencies from throughout Berkshire County will have information on ways to keep pregnant women, families, and children safe and healthy. Some of the topics include infant care, prenatal development, nutrition, breast feeding, lead poisoning prevention, labor and delivery, selecting child care, importance of dental health, community resources for families and children and many more.

Informative workshops will be held during the event, beginning at 10:30. Workshops being offered include "Work and Breastfeeding," car-seat safety basics and "Learn a Baby Yoga Move." Sign-up for the workshops will be at the registration table on the day of the event.

Many items donated by area businesses will be raffled off throughout the event. Many of the participating agencies will have their own raffle drawings as well. Anyone visiting the informational tables will also receive a free bag with items donated by local and national companies.
