Spanish Harlem Orchestra at Troy Music Hall - October 25, 2007
 | | The Spanish Harlem Orchestra | TROY, N.Y. – World-renowned pianist, arranger and producer Oscar Hernandez will conduct the 13-member Spanish Harlem Orchestra on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
The orchestra arrived on the music scene in 2002, producing the 2002 Grammy-nominated debut album "Un Gran Día En El Barrio," received a 2003 Grammy nomination for best salsa album and won the 2004 Grammy Award for "Across 110th Street."
Spanish Harlem’s sound has been described as classical meets contemporary with refreshing originality. The group is committed to keeping the salsa spirit alive in their recordings and their shows. "As a community it is an important part of the fabric that makes up the city," said Hernandez, "and we're compelled to share the power of the music and culture with the world."
Tickets are $28, $25 and $15 and can be purchased by calling 518-273-0038 or online at www.troymusichall.org. The box office opens 90 minutes prior to the performance or go to 30 Second St., Monday through Friday from 10 to 5. |
