Nomination Deadline for the 2007 Esther Quinn Award - October 30, 2007
The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for the 2007 Esther Quinn Award in memory of Esther Quinn, former Chamber volunteer and advocate for volunteer efforts. The award, now in its eighth year, will be presented at the Chamber’s annual meeting on December 7, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza Pittsfield-Berkshires.
Esther Quinn passed away suddenly in 1998, cutting short a distinguished real estate career that began in 1972. She was a member of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors for more than twenty years and was the top Century 21 agent in all of Western Massachusetts, several different times.
Esther was not only recognized for her professional endeavors, but also for her tireless volunteer contributions throughout Berkshire County. Her help in bringing people together to strengthen and serve the community, to which she gave much of her spare time, was evident in her volunteerism throughout the region.
The first EQ Award was given to William Wilson, former president and CEO of the Berkshire Visitors Bureau, who won the award in 1999. Past award recipients include: 2000, David Klausmeyer; 2001, Dr. Gary Lamoureaux; 2002, Louann Harvey; 2003, Mick Callahan; 2004, Robert Proskin; 2005, Richard Whitehead; and, 2006, Ellen Ruberto.
The successful candidate for this award is any person who is a member of the Berkshire community, who has been involved in several volunteer efforts, is a people person, and with their enthusiasm, empathy and effort, continues to make the Berkshires a better place in which to live and work.
Nomination forms are available at the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, located at 75 North Street, Suite 360 in Pittsfield. To request forms via fax, please call Christine Hoyt at (413) 499-4000, extension 26 or to obtain via e-mail, please e-mail choyt@berkshirechamber.com. Nomination forms must be returned to the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2007. |
