Operation Troop Support 2007 Drive

The Military Family Support Group of the Berkshire Red Cross will be conducting the annual “Operation Troop Support 2007” drive to send December holiday cheer packages to Berkshire County troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait.

New, unused items will be accepted from November 13-Dec.3. Note that NO aerosol cans are permitted.

Items which will be accepted are:

Baby wipes, DVDs & CDs, International phone cards, sun screen, mid-calf cotton socks (subdued colors), zip lock bags, non perishable snacks, cup of soup, variety pack cereals, powdered Gatorade, Kool-Aide, tan thread and sewing needles, feminine hygiene items, foot powder, green or brown bandanas, and duct tape in subdued colors.

During collection dates, items can be dropped off at the Chapter House 8:30-4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Monetary donations are also needed to assist with the cost of shipping and can be mailed to: American Red Cross, Berkshire County Chapter, 480 West St., Pittsfield, MA 01201; please indicate that the donation is for “Operation Troop Support 2007”.

If you have the military address of a service member deployed in these areas, call Ms. Hubley at 413-442-1506 Ext. 15 before Thanksgiving, so they can receive some holiday cheer through this drive.
