Rumors Run RampantStaff reports - November 05, 2007
CHESHIRE - Despite numerous rumors that a body - or several bodies - were found in Cheshire Reservoir this morning, state police are confirming that no such incident occurred.
"Sorry, no dead bodies," said a spokesman for the police.
State police said they were unsure who had started the rumors but the claims had apparently reached local schools. One of the numerous calls to the state police barracks today came from a school resource officer, concerned about the rumors.
Additional reports that there may have been a shooting at the reservoir are also untrue.
Problems reaching the police barracks this afternoon because of crossed phone wires have also been resolved, the spokesman noted. |
