NBCA Offers Workshops on Paper Boxes - November 25, 2007
NORTH ADAMS - Instructor Melanie Mowinski will offer three workshops in papermaking, coptic binding and constructing a clamshell box.
The workshops are "Around the Box: Papers with Purpose," Dec. 1, 10 to 3; "Inside the Box: Coptic Binding," Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 to 4; and "Box it Up: Clamshell Box," Saturday, Dec. 15, 10 to 4.

Mowinski is a Pittsfield-based artist who focuses on printmaking and bookmaking. She holds a master of arts in religion and the visual arts from Yale University and has exhibited widely. Her work is in many public collections, including the Library of Congress, the Newark (N.J.) Museum and the Tate Modern Museum of Art in London. She recently taught a course at NBCA.
The non-profit community arts school, founded in 2003, provides a broad range of studio classes and creative arts programming, both traditional and contemporary, to all members of the Northern Berkshires and surrounding communities. It is located in the Western Gateway Heritage State Park in downtown North Adams. |
