Clarksburg, Stamford Experience Temporary Power OutageStaff reports - November 27, 2007
CLARKSBURG - A felled tree knocked out power to 221 residences in the area of Middle Road and River Road this morning. Some homes in Stamford, Vt. were also affected.
According to David Graves, a spokesman for National Grid - the parent company of Massachusetts Electric - the power outage began at 8:41 a.m. and was restored by 10:16 a.m.
Phone service was also temporarily disrupted.
High winds may have been the cause for the fallen tree, which took down several power lines. One carried electricity for Green Mountain Power, who services Stamford, according to spokeswoman Dorothy Schnure.
A spokesperson for Verizon could not be reached. |
