More Snow

The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend.

Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit World Youth Day Participants

- January 04, 2008

On Thursday, January 10 from 4 - 7 p.m. there will be spaghetti dinner at the North Adams American Legion to benefit students from North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, and Florida who will be attending World Youth Day in Australia in July. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children.

The teens that are going on the pilgrimage have been selected to represent St. Mary's Church in Cheshire, the Catholic churches of Adams, and the Catholic churches of North Adams by the COTY Youth Center in North Adams, under the direction of Sister Eunice Tassone. Over 500,000 teens from all over the world are expected to participate in the event in which they will see Pope Benedict speak in Sydney, Australia.

The meal will be prepared by the members of the American Legion and will include a generous portion of spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, bread, and salad. Beverages and desserts will also be available for a small charge. For more information about the event you may contact 743-7532.
