Twain's 'Letters' Topic of Literature Program - January 07, 2008
WILLIAMSTOWN - The David and Joyce Milne Public Library will host a classic literature program at the Williams Inn on Friday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.
Mark Twain unpublished work "Letters From Earth" was held back from the public for many years after his death by his daughter, who was worried about her father's reputation. She finally relented and the uncensored writings of Twain's satire on God is said to show Twain at his best.
The work represents a series of letters written by Satan, reporting on a visit to the "Human Race Experiment" on Planet Earth.
For more information contact library Director Pat McLeod at 458-5369 or visit www.milnelibrary.org for a list of programs. |
