BCC to Offer Guitar Workshops - January 28, 2008
 | | BCC, guitar workshops this spring | The South County Center of Berkshire Community College will offer the following guitar workshops this spring.
“Absolute Beginner’s Guitar” (WKS 796), a thirteen-week course, teaches the basics of guitar from tuning, strumming and fingerpicking, to simple lead and bass lines. Participants will be playing songs from week one. Class meets Thursday evening, Feb. 14 through May 15, from 7:30 to 8:30. A second workshop is scheduled for Thursday evening, from Feb. 14 through May 15, from 4:30 to 5:30.
“Beginner’s Guitar – Step Two” (WKS 800), a thirteen-week course, takes the skills and knowledge learned in the “Absolute Beginner’s Guitar” workshop an extra step. Students will use song arrangements to learn about chord voicing, walking bass lines, Travis picking and more. Class meets Thursday evening, Feb. 14 through May 15 from 6:30 to 7:30.
“Beginner’s Guitar for Young People” (WKS 1340), a four-week course, introduces the basic of guitar, rhythm and music that students can use for life. Class meets Thursday afternoon, March 27 through April 17, from 3:30 to 4:30.
