Lenten Music Series - February 26, 2008
DALTON – The Gospel Chorus of Second Congregational Church of Pittsfield and the Cross Talk Praise Band will perform this Sunday at 3 p.m. as the “Sing Praise to the Lord Series” continues at Dalton United Methodist Church, 755 Main St.
The nondenominational Lenten music series is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken each week, and all attending will be invited to enjoy refreshments after the performance.
The Gospel Chorus of Second Congregational Church of Pittsfield, under the direction of Grace Walton since 1979, has performed at festivals and revivals as far afield as Durham, N.C. Pianist Melvin Wilson will accompany the chorus, whose lively performances make it nearly impossible for listeners to sit still.
Meg Schweitzer provides lead vocals for Cross Talk, supported by Cindy Durkee and Pastor Bob Jackson. The band also features on Ed Eurbin on bass, Lisa McColgan, Ken Mick and Mike Tirrell on guitar, Rick Schweitzer on drums and Beth Mick on flute.
