Berkshire Biodiesel VP to Speak at 'Green Living' Series - March 17, 2008
NORTH ADAMS – The Berkshire Environmental Resource Center at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will continue its series of 14 "Green Living" seminars on Thursday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m. with "Benefits, Drawbacks, and Challenges of Incorporating Biodiesel in a Combination of Sustainable Energies," in Room 218 of Murdock Hall.
The series, "Achieving Energy Sustainability for the 21st Century: Choices and Challenges," is free and open to the public.
Lee Harrison, executive vice president of Berkshire Biodiesel, will lead the discussion on the aspects of using biodiesel as an energy source. He leads the company's state government relations and marketing programs and provides assistance with national grant procurement.
Harrison has more than 25 years of experience over a range of companies and industries, including firms such as Bechtel Corp., Business Week magazine, and the Electric Power Research Institute. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Northeastern University and a master's in journalism from Columbia University.
The Green Living series aims to inform students and the community about strategies for meeting the growing demand for energy and to encourage debate around several energy options, including those involving water, wind, hydrogen and nuclear power. The series will continue on Thursdays through April 24 in Room 218.
