An apparent fatal accident just before the Vermont state line shut down Route 7 in Williamstown on Friday evening around 5 p.m. One or more people were airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter from the nearby Steinerfilm parking lot. No further information was immediately available.

Moose Protection Poster Contest

- March 24, 2008

Goal: To increase public awareness of the presence of moose on our roadways, with the goal of decreasing moose/car collisions in Massachusetts and preventing human and moose injuries.

Who can participate - Any K-5th grade student who lives in the 5 central/western counties of Worcester, Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin, and/or Berkshire. One poster per student only.  No assistance from parents or older siblings please! 

What materials can be used - One 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper, colored pencils, crayons, and/or markers ONLY. No other materials will be accepted, due to challenges with reproduction.

How will the art be judged - Creativity with use of materials, creativity with design of poster, clarity of message, and uniqueness of artwork.

Deadline: All submissions must be received by 5:00 pm on May 1, 2008. 

All submissions will become the property of the MSPCA and cannot be returned.

Award: The winning poster will be displayed on www.mspca.org, printed on an MSPCA educational poster and used on other MSPCA brochures and materials.
