 | | Julia Bolton | NORTH ADAMS — Corporators of Northern Berkshire Healthcare elected Julia Bolton of Williamstown and Richard Jette of Adams to the NBH board of trustees at the annual meeting.
Re-elected were Ellen Bernstein, Stephen Fix, William Greenwald, Bruce Grinnell, Dr. Erwin Stuebner and Dr. Arthur Turton.
Bolton enjoyed a long career in health care, both as educator and hospital administrator. She was vice president of operations and chief nursing officer at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, a unit of Southwestern Vermont Health Care. During her tenure, she initiated many improvements to patient care and nursing practice and led the hospital to the achievement of Magnet Status. Upon her retirement, she was recognized for her leadership, advocacy for staff and patients, and her commitment to caring with the establishment of an annual quality award and the installation of a stained-glass mural in the hospital's lobby that depicts the themes in her work.
Jette is a certified public accountant and consultant to businesses and organizations. He is a former president and managing director of Adelson & Company P.C. Jette is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. NBH President and Chief Executive Officer Richard T. Palmisano and medical staff President Dr. Paul Donovan serve as ex-officio members.
NBH corporators serve as liaisons to the Northern Berkshire community and have the authority to approve nominations to the boards of corporators and of trustees, and make adjustments in the bylaws governing NBH.
