- April 14, 2008

The Berkshire County Red Cross will be holding its Sixteenth Annual Red Cross Golf Classic at the Country Club of Pittsfield on Monday, August 25, 2008. The event includes an 18 hole scramble format, many activities including a Hole-In-One contest for a car, a putting contest for $ 5000, raffles, gifts, lunch, refreshments on course and dinner.

Kay McMahon is a renowned teacher in the world of golf. She has taught golfers of all levels both nationally and internationally on adaptive golf techniques for over 25 years. Kay was the first woman voted in the Southern California Chapter to be a member in the PGA. Kay is a former National LPGA President and won the LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 1995.

In 2001, she was named by Golf Magazine as one of the Top 400 Teachers. Kay was nominated to the LPGA Hall of Fame in 2006 and has successfully competed in 3 US opens. Ms. McMahon will provide a CD of golf swings for each participant. All monies raised from this event are used to fund local Red Cross programs and services. Golfers who wish to participate and for more information on sponsorship or a contribution for the raffle should contact Catherine Duck at (413)-442-1506 Ext. 12.
