An apparent fatal accident just before the Vermont state line shut down Route 7 in Williamstown on Friday evening around 5 p.m. One or more people were airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter from the nearby Steinerfilm parking lot. No further information was immediately available.

Legacy Banks Hosts Mortgage Session in Lenox

PITTSFIELD – Legacy Banks will host a free mortgage prequalification program in Lenox for those interested in learning what type of home they can afford to purchase.

Part of Legacy's monthly series, the session will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, at Legacy Banks, 2 Holmes Road.

Those who qualify will leave with a prequalification certificate and a coupon for $250 off closing costs. Attendees should bring a current pay stub and most recent tax return. Self-employed individuals should bring two years of tax returns. Mortgage officers will be on hand to meet one-on-one with individuals or families.

Home equity applications and information will also be available. Call 413-445-3437 or 800-292-6634 for an appointment, although walk-ins will be accommodated. Legacy Banks has been a MassHousing Lender since 1992 and is an Equal Housing Lender.
