Recording for the Blind Names New Board Member - April 24, 2008
LENOX — Timothy Scott has been named to the board of directors of the Berkshire Chapter of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, according to Chairwoman Mary Jo Carpenter.
"Tim is an exceptional addition to our local chapter's board. His dedication to community and expertise in financial matters will be an invaluable resource for RFB&D," said Carpenter.
Born and raised in Pittsfield, Scott is a graduate of Pittsfield High School and went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Western New England College. He spent two years as a budget analyst at K-B Toys before joining Greylock Federal Credit Union five years ago as a financial analyst.
He will serve as chairman of the nonprofit agency's Corporate Committee.
"I am honored to have been selected to serve on the board. RFB&D provides a service that is vital to so many students with print disabilities, both here in Massachusetts and across the nation, and I am looking forward to helping those students achieve their academic goals," said Scott.
Scott has served on a number of civic committees over the years, including a two-year stint as co-chairman of the Greylock United Way Campaign. He enjoys fishing, as well as playing basketball and golf.
For information about volunteering at the Lenox studio, which now offers evening hours, call 413-637-0889.
RFB&D serves more than 185,000 students nationwide, and 10,713 in Massachusetts, from kindergarten through graduate school and beyond with its one-of-a-kind audiobook library of educational titles. All of RFB&D's accessible titles are recorded by volunteers working in 29 recording studios nationwide, including Lenox and Williamstown. |
