Dalton CRA Road Race results

DALTON – Pittsfield runners William Drexler and Michelle Kroboth walked away with the top prizes at Sunday’s 31st annual Dalton Community Recreation Association May Day Races at Nessacus Middle School.

Drexler pulled away early and cruised to an easy victory in the men’s 10-kilometer event, posting a time of 34 minutes, 52 seconds. Chris Trager was second in 38:34 and Andrew Klem finished third in 42:14. In the women’s 10K race, Kroboth cruised to victory in 42:20. Sue Williams was second in 42:38 and Jennifer Ward was third in 43:40.

Katie West was never challenged in the women’s 5-kilometer event, winning easily in 20:47. Kate Kellar was second in 24:08 and Erica Lewis third in 24:09. In the men’s 5K, Wahconah Regional High School’s Zach Morris won easily in 19:40. Classmate Kevin Stengl was second in 20:33 and Tim Drake was third in 20:50.

Trager and Susan Horst captured awards as top male and female Dalton finishers in the 10K, while Bob Congdon and Williams earned the Dr. William Carey awards as the top male and female 50-and-over finishers. Joe Clark captured the Clydesdale award for men and Allison Bedard the Filly award for women.
