Morningside Pride Night '08

- August 11, 2008

The Morningside Initiative Steering Committee in conjunction with the Pittsfield Police Department are putting on the fourth annual “Morningside Pride Night” on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at Morningside Community School from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This event is designed to bring out the residents and workers of the area in order to take pride in their neighborhood and to aid in the revitalization of the Morningside area.

During the event there will be demonstrations, activities and fingerprinting for the kids. We will have information tables in the gym to give residents of the neighborhood the opportunity to learn about local Social Service Agencies and hopefully benefit from the various services they provide. Berkshire Health Systems Community Outreach Van will be at Pride Night from 5pm to 7pm.

This is a free event and will include a march around the Morningside School Block (Cherry Street, Lincoln Street, Second Street and Burbank Street) to show that this neighborhood and its residents will not tolerate crime and that they are proud to live and/or work in the Morningside area. We will gather for the Pride March around 6:45 pm at Morningside School.

If you have any questions please contact the Morningside Initiative Steering Committee’s vice chairperson Pete White at 413-329-4194 or by email petewhite78@yahoo.com
