More Snow
The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend.
We have reports that the roads are very slippery to take care in the evening commute. |

Artist's 'Local Color' Featured at Museum Facsimiles - August 19, 2008
 | | View from Court Square in Pittsfield. | PITTSFIELD — New works by Marguerite Bride in her "Local Color" series are being featured during September in the gallery at Museum Facsimiles at 429 North St.
The solo exhibit will run from Sept. 18 through Oct. 15, with an opening reception on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 8 during "Third Thursday."
Bride has been capturing the beauty of the Berkshires in her watercolors for several years, featuring not just the expected scenes but also some "off the beaten track" views. She has completed more than 90 paintings of the Berkshires, one of which hangs in City Hall. Bride likes to feature the buildings of the area in her paintings, and this exhibit will present many in an autumn setting.
Her newest paintings, just completed and being exhibited for the first time, include scenes of Pontoosuc Lake, Canoe Meadows, Ashmere Lake, Hancock Shaker Village and downtown Pittsfield.
She also has gained fame in recent years for her house portraits. Visit www.margebride.com for more information.
Museum Facsimiles owners Ken and Laurie Green invite Berkshire County’s finest artists to exhibit in this increasingly popular gallery space. The store also carries a fine line of gift items and frames. Visit their website, www.museumfacsimiles.com, to see the many items available and produced at their Museum Facsimiles factory also located in Pittsfield. |
