Parents of Teenagers Join Together in Signing “Safe Homes” Pledge
12:50PM / Wednesday, August 27, 2008
The Safe Homes of North Berkshire Program is kicking off its seventh year with the distribution of pledge forms to parents of middle and high school students in North County. Sponsored by the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition in collaboration with North Berkshire schools, the Safe Homes project brings together parents that are concerned about underage drug and alcohol use and who want to promote a safe and healthy environment for youth.
Parents who sign the Safe Homes Pledges will be listed in the 2008-2009 Safe Homes Resource Guide. The Resource Guide offers information including telephone hotline number, information about how the law pertains to underage drinking, drug and tobacco use, and suggestions on how to talk to teens about alcohol and drugs.
Parents will receive the Safe Homes Pledge along with other back-to-school materials at the start of school. Parents will also have the opportunity to sign Safe Homes pledges at Open House or by contacting the Main Office at their children’s middle or high school.
