More Snow
The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend.
We have reports that the roads are very slippery to take care in the evening commute. |

‘Busman’s Holiday’ on Exhibit at BCC - September 05, 2008
‘Busman’s Holiday’ an exhibit by David Lee, photographer, will be on display in the Koussevitzky Gallery at Berkshire Community College between now and October 2.
Lee, a photography teacher at BCC, describes ‘Busman’s Holiday’ as a bus driver shuttling children to the beach then hanging out and enjoying the sunshine.
The pictures in this exhibit, taken by mutual agreement between the subject and photographer, were to be used for either a publication or gift to the subject as a token or remembrance. Something in the image made the photos unfit for their intended purpose and were rejected. Lee kept the photos thinking something about them was worth looking at more closely.
In many of the photos, which consist of a single person or groups of people, subjects have altered their identities to various degrees, and in the act of photographing them, Lee helps complete the transformation, becoming part of the drama. He states, “I’ve always been interested in the beauty of snapshots which by accident reveal truths that are often missed in more purposeful images. Whatever visual qualities they have for me are purely accidental. I often find myself looking for a moment that has not happened, so that the time line of my interaction with the camera intersects with the moment I hope to reach.”
In addition to BCC, Lee has exhibited his work at TSL Warehouse, Hudson, group show; Mohawk/Hudson Art Regional juried exhibit, Albany, New York; and Mohawk/Hudson Photo Regional juried exhibit, Albany, New York.
Lee will discuss his work Tuesday, Sept. 9, at noon in Room K-116, located next to the art gallery in the college’s Koussevitzky Arts Center. Forum credit is available for BCC students attending this gallery talk. |
