Trailblazers Capture 5th Straight Win10:06AM / Friday, October 24, 2008
North Adams, Mass – After an October 13th loss at home vs. Bridgewater State the MCLA Trailblazers volleyball team was mired in the middle of a tough losing streak and searching for answers. The Trailblazers have not even dropped a set since and have ripped off 5 straight wins after another 3-0 victory over visiting Lyndon State. This gives the Trailblazers a lot of momentum heading into a key conference showdown this weekend at Framingham State (2-2 in the MASCAC).
MCLA (10-12, 1-3) had 4 Trailblazers with over 7 kills, Hayley Gunderson (Ganesvoort, NY), Kayla Bromback (Lee, MA), Amanda Borsotti (Lee, MA) and Christina Kidd (Glens Falls, NY); that quartet shows the promise of the future not having a junior or season among them. Junior Marta Brown (Glens Falls, MA) had 27 assists and sophomore Amanda Lane (Swansea, MA) had 10 service aces and led the team with 6 digs.
MCLA will be at Framingham on Saturday for a Tri-Match with Framingham and non-conference opponent Regis College starting at 11:30am. |
