NORTH ADAMS, Mass – The Tricks of the Trade seminar series will continue on Tuesday, Dec. 9, and Wednesday, Dec. 10, 7-9 p.m., with technology-focused seminars at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in North Adams and the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts in Pittsfield.
The seminars are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
Session one, “Web sites and Blogs,” will take place on Dec. 9 in MCLA’s computer lab in room 118 Murdock Hall on the MCLA campus. Session two, “Marketing Online,” will take place on Dec. 10 at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, at 28 Renne Ave., Pittsfield.
The instructor for both sessions is Bob O’Haver, technology consultant and founder of graymatterhost.com.
“Web sites and Blogs” will take participants through the step-by-step process of creating a Web site from idea to launch and beyond. Other topics include the pros and cons of free Web sites, what you get from creating a Web site yourself, the difference between a Web site and a blog, as well as e-commerce, Web 2.0, social networking and more.
Participants of “Marketing Online” will find out how to get their Web sites noticed by using Pay per Click, Search Engine Optimization, blogging, and social networking to build a client base.
