Legacy Banks Foundation Grants $5,000 to Lenox Library
LENOX, Mass. - The Lenox Library Association is pleased to announce that The Legacy Banks Foundation has made a $5,000 grant to the Lenox Library as a major sponsor of the Library’s upcoming fundraising gala on January 31, 2009.The black-tie event will be a “Chinese New Year” celebration at the Lenox Library to raise funds in support of the Library’s educational programs and resources. The event committee is chaired by Daniel T.M. Dempsey, an officer of the Lenox Library Association’s Board of Managers.
Denis Lesieur, Executive Director of the Lenox Library, said “We are very grateful to receive this significant grant from The Legacy Banks Foundation, whose community-oriented philanthropic tradition continues to support the Lenox Library’s vital educational mission, especially our top-ranked children’s programs.”
The Lenox Library is an independently owned and operated library in its 152nd year of continuous operation. More than half of the Library’s annual operating budget is funded by donations raised from individuals and corporations, in addition to an annual appropriation by the Town of Lenox. The Library’s building at 18 Main Street in Lenox is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
