BCC to Offer Computer Workshops this Spring01:21PM / Monday, January 05, 2009
Berkshire Community College is offering the following computer workshops at its South County Center in Great Barrington this Spring.
“Computer Basics for the Adult Learner” (WKS-102) is designed for parents, grandparents, seniors, and new or novice computer users. Using Microsoft Windows XP, participants learn the parts of the computer and computer terminology. Classes meet Saturday, Jan. 24 through Feb. 7, from 8:30-12:30. Cost is $130.
“InDesign CS3 for Beginners” (WKS-240) teaches participants to create visual communication such as newsletters, brochures, posters, and other printed documents that contain both text and images. The workshop explores essentials of this state-of-the-art layout program. Classes meet Tuesday, Feb. 3 through Feb. 17, from 9:30 to 12:30. Cost is $155.
“Beginning Photoshop” (WKS-236) teaches students to modify photos using an amazing assortment of painting, drawing and retouching tools to create original artistic images. Classes meet Wednesday, Feb. 4 through Feb. 18, from 9:30 to 12:30. Cost is $155.
“Internet for Adult Learners” (WKS-140) explains the difference between “browsers” and “search engines” and how to use them. Students learn what to do and not to do about banking and purchasing online, how to “download” a program; and Microsoft Windows’s security and how protects the computer. Classes meet Saturday, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28, from 8:30 to 12:30. Cost is $79 |
