Berkshire Community College will offer the following new workshops this spring at its South County Center in Great Barrington.

“The Power of Flow: Painting and Drawing to Music” (WKS-1571) is a nonjudgmental adventure in art for those who enjoy an offbeat, unorthodox approach. Students seek their form of self-expression, risk being themselves and find their passion. Classes meet Thursday, Feb. 12 through April 2, from 9 to 12. Cost is $225.

“Snorkeling – Middle Schoolers” (WKS-399) brings out participants imagination of a coral reef; colorful fishes, sea fans and sunken treasure, by drawing it with a needle and thread or painting it with fabric. Students make a small pillow or wall hanging as a souvenir from this world of handcrafts. Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 17 through Feb. 19, from 10 to 12. Cost is $60.

“Conversation with the Soul of America, Part I: Two Languages, One People (WKS-2077) an introduction to the world our Founding Fathers knew, focuses on forgotten symbolic language important to understanding the roots of the nation they began and now steward. This one-session class meets Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, from 6:30 to 8:30. Cost is $20.

“Conversation with the Soul of America, Part II: One Nation for a Long Time” (WKS-2078) explores specific moments in our time that might bridge the gap between us. Students discuss the Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20, President Washington’s Inauguration, The Boston Tea Party, our national birth date, and the surrender of Cornwallis to Washington. Classes meet Wednesday evening, Feb. 18 through March 4, from 6:30 to 8:30. Cost is $60.

“Language French: Beginners and Intermediate” (WKS-261) develops participants spoken French in a comfortable supportive atmosphere with individualized tutoring for students of all levels. Students learn French for travel or business or just for fun. Classes meet Thursday evening, Jan. 22 through May 14, from 7 to 9:15. Cost is $295.
