Northern Berkshire Creative Arts Web 2.0 Workshops

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Northern Berkshire Creative Arts will feature “Web 2.0, Low-cost Marketing on the Web”, a four-part workshops series beginning January 31 with instructor Marcia Mayper. This series will focus on Web 2.0, a term describing Internet technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and collaboration among users.

These concepts have led to the development and evolution of online communities such as social-networking sites wikis, and blogs. The workshops include “Domain Names”, “Social Networking 2.0”, “The Cultured Web”, and “Creating a Blog-Weblog”. Sign up for one or all of the workshops. Marcia Mayper, an educator and member of NBCA’s Board of Directors, began teaching in NYC public schools in 1967. In 1988 Marcia began her own business, Innovative Computing, and her clients range from individuals to corporations and not for profits such as Carnegie Hall, Goldman Sachs, American International Group, Japan Air Lines, and Associated Actors and Artistes of America.

Northern Berkshire Creative Arts, a non-profit community arts school established in April 2004, provides a broad range of studio classes and creative arts programming, both traditional and contemporary, to all members of the Northern Berkshires and surrounding communities. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
