ONE Massachusetts’ is presenting a training designed to help you understand the current economic crisis in Massachusetts, and learn practical techniques to increase the effectiveness of your communication as you speak about politics and the issues that need our attention. This event is co-sponsored by the Town of Lenox and the Lenox Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick Bresette of the Demos Center for the Public Sector will present an analysis of the public’s current attitudes towards government, including principles for rebuilding a fundamental appreciation of the unique role that government can and should play in society, and practical ways to implement these lessons into our daily communications.
There will also be a presentation by Noah Berger, of Mass Budget and Policy Center, briefing us briefly on the state’s budget predicament, enabling us to better understand how the budget and taxes affect our communities and our economy. This is a transparent tour into understanding more deeply how government finances work.
We’re living in wild times. There’s more hope in the air than there has been in a very long time, and there are more huge challenges facing us all as well. Many of us are experiencing surges of energy to ENGAGE, become active in finding solutions and making big things happen. This workshop will help us think more consciously about how we communicate our issues, and will enable us to meet others doing good work in the Berkshires.
There is no charge for this workshop, but please rsvp to saustown@aol.com.
Please carpool if possible, and consider grabbing a bite to eat before the event at one of our Lenox restaurants just down the street from the Community Center.
