STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. - Norman Rockwell Museum offers an exciting month of programs for visitors of different ages and interests. From April 18 through 25, the Museum will offer school vacation week drop-in art classes, exploring watercolor painting and paper collage techniques. For adults, the Museum will team up with IS183 Art School on two Sundays, April 26 and May 3, to present an intense two-day painting workshop. And on Wednesday, April 22, the Museum will introduce a new ongoing program called "In Rockwell's World," featuring stories from those who knew the illustrator during his years in Stockbridge.

Toddler Tuesdays
Three, Four, and Two, Too!
April 7, 10:30 a.m.
Designed for preschool children and their adult friends, this multi-sensory learning experience features an age-appropriate gallery tour and a fun hands-on art project. Program fee $6 per child/adult pair; $4 for Museum members. Each additional child $3.
School Vacation Week Drop-in Art Classes
Colorful Collage
April 20 through 25, 1 to 4 p.m.
Combine watercolor painting and paper collage techniques to experience the joys of creative exploration. Come once or every day- each afternoon offers a different set of inspiration for artistic growth. Suitable for children six years and older. Adults free with Museum admission. Program fee $6 per child, $4 for Museum members.
Story Time: Willie Was Different
Tuesday, April 21, 10:30 a.m.
Preschoolers and their adult friends are invited to listen to a lively reading of Norman Rockwell's children¹s book, "Willie Was Different," followed by creative play time in the Museum's Art Zone. Free with Museum admission.
Art in Action
Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m.
These Sunday afternoon drop-in art workshops focus on family fun and hands-on adventure, inspired by the art of Norman Rockwell and other illustrators. Free for children. Adults free with Museum admission.

Find out what it was like to pose for America's favorite illustrator- from one of Norman Rockwell's own models. Free with Museum admission.
Performance: In Rockwell's World
Wednesday, April 22, 2:30 p.m.
Based on stories shared by Norman Rockwell's models, this performance introduces some of the many people who were part of Rockwell's world. Space is limited; reservations required. Free with Museum admission.
Performance: Meet Mr. Butler
Friday, April 24, 2:30 p.m.
Make the acquaintance of Charles Butler, original owner of Linwood, the 1859 Berkshire "cottage" that graces the grounds of the Museum's campus. Space is limited; reservations required. Free with Museum admission.
Painting Workshop: Capturing a Moment
Sundays, April 26 and May 3, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This special two-day painting workshop for beginner and intermediate artists offers sketching explorations in Norman Rockwell Museum's galleries, discussions on Norman Rockwell's techniques, and in-depth instruction to develop participants' painting skills while inspiring new ideas. Co-presented by teaching artists from Norman Rockwell Museum and IS183 Art School, the workshop's focus is on developing a painting from first sketch to finished work. A supply list will be provided. Listen to special guests read selected passages from Norman Rockwell's autobiography "My Adventures as an Illustrator," surrounded by the artist's illustrations. Free with Museum admission.

Artists in Their Studios
On view through June 7, 2009
This photographic exhibition presents a unique glimpse into the lives and work spaces of more than 75 American artists from the late 19th century to today. From John Singer Sargent and Willem deKooning to Marcel Duchamp and Andy Warhol, this exhibition offers an intimate perspective on a century of important artists at work. A special gallery exploring some of the many studios Rockwell occupied during his life complements the exhibition.

Admission Details
Norman Rockwell Museum is open daily. General public admission is $15 for adults, $13.50 for seniors, $10 for college students, and free for visitors 18 and under (five per adult). Kids Free Every Day is a gift to families from Country Curtains, Blantyre, and The Red Lion Inn. Weekday hours from November through April are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekend/holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Orientation talks are available daily, beginning on the hour. Antenna Audio Tour of select paintings from the Museum¹s permanent Norman Rockwell collection is available.
