EGREMONT, Mass. — An Egremont's man Top 10 list about Catamount Ski Area impressed talk-show host David Letterman so much he read it on the air last night.

According to The Berkshire Eagle, Rick Tivens, a line cook at Catamount Ski Area and a local musician, approached Letterman with the list poking fun at the ski area on St. Patrick's weekend. The late-night television star and his young son, Harry, came for a day of skiing because one closer to their Connecticut home had closed for the season.

The list is about 5 minutes into the video.
On his show, Letterman said he's been offered top 10 lists "close to a billion times."

The very "insider" list on the 70-year-old ski area on the New York state border was read by Letterman "symbolically representing the billion people who have approached me with their own top 10 list."

Donald Edwards, executive vice president of Catamount, told The Eagle no one was angry about the good-natured shots at the ski area, adding "It's great publicity."

Top 10 reasons why Letterman is at Catamount:

10. Bernie Madoff
09. Navigation system broken in RV
08. Curdled clam chowder
07. Wanted to ski where it's never crowded
06. Harry loves cats!
05. Bernie Madoff
04. The badly burned pizza
03. Rick Baron's chili
02. Heard the Berkshires has 10 months of winter and two months of sledding
01. Green corned beef and beer
