7th Annual Lenox Art Walk12:15PM / Monday, May 04, 2009
LENOX, Mass. - The 7th Annual Lenox Art Walk will take place this Memorial Day weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 23 - 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sponsored by The Lenox Gallery Association in conjunction with The Lenox Chamber of Commerce, some 13 galleries will offer art lovers, collectors, and the curious a unique opportunity to view a wide range of artistic work. The weekend will also feature artist demonstrations, special events, and receptions.
The official starting point for the Lenox Art Walk will be the Lenox Chamber of Commerce office, located at 5 Housatonic Street. Specially designed Art Walk maps will be available at the Chamber as well as at all of the participating galleries.
The small but vibrant Town of Lenox, with only a few thousand year-round residents, has long been a mecca in the Berkshires for connoisseurs of the fine and performing arts. The many galleries in Historic Lenox Village represent the work of over 300 artists from all over the world.
"Since 2002, we have offered this weekend-long feast for the eyes to rave reviews," said Lynda Strauch, owner of The Wit Gallery in Lenox. "We are proud to mark our place again this year in the contemporary art world."
The wide range of works on view at the Lenox Art Walk will include paintings, illustrations, sculpture, photography, folk art, outsider art, antique art, contemporary fine art, jewelry, pottery, ceramics, glass, wearable art, fiber art, and more.
Buyers and browsers alike are welcome to attend this free event. For more information, please contact Ralph Petillo at the Lenox Chamber of Commerce at 413-637-3625 or Lynda Strauch at The Wit Gallery at 413-637-8808 or witgallery@verizon.net. |
