NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - North Adams Regional Hospital will again offer a Junior Volunteer Summer Program and is inviting local students to apply.
The NBH Junior Volunteer Summer Program will be offered this year from June 29 - August 21. It is open to individuals 13-17 years old at the time of the program. There are opportunities to serve either in North Adams at North Adams Regional Hospital or in Williamstown at Sweet Brook Transitional Care & Living Centers or the Women’s Exchange Consignment Shop and Gift Shop.
The goal of the program is to bring awareness to the participants of the many career opportunities in healthcare settings and provide a valuable community service. Placements will be geared toward engaging creativity, encouraging socialization, and practicing or learning practical skills.
For the 15-17 year olds, there may be opportunities to work with adult volunteers in areas more directly connected with patients and visitors. While placement with a particular site or department cannot be guaranteed, requests will be considered. Applications must be completed and returned by Wednesday, May 13. Interested individuals may pick up applications at the NARH lobby reception desk or contact Deborah Nicholas at 413-664-5261 or email her at dnicholas@nbhealth.org.
