Berkshire Concert Choir Teams with Local High Schools

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Concert Choir and Artistic Director, John E. Cheney, will present "Berkshire County Sings," a special concert under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Ann Howard Jones, Professor of Choral Activities at Boston University and former associate of Robert Shaw.
The concert will feature the Berkshire Concert Choir along with students and their choral directors from Wahconah Regional High School, Mt. Greylock Regional High School and Monument Mountain Regional High School.
The soloists for this special concert will be Madeline Miskie, soprano, Dan Foster, tenor, and John Demler, baritone. The combined choirs will be accompanied by Scott Allen Jarrett, Director of Music, Chapel Organist and Choirmaster at Boston University's Marsh Chapel. The concert will be performed on Sunday, May 31, at 4 p.m. at The Colonial Theatre, 111 South St.
Musical offerings include Zadok The Priest by G.F. Handel, F. Schubert’s Mass in G, followed by a selection of American folk tunes and spirituals and a choral favorite by Aaron Copeland
Tickets are $15 (general admission) and $12 for students and seniors. Children 12 and under are FREE. Tickets are available from The Colonial Theatre box office or by calling (413) 997-4444.
