BCC Tutor Receives Award09:07AM / Thursday, June 04, 2009
Brian Burniske, a tutor at Berkshire Community College, recently received “Tutor of the Year Award,” a new award established this year by BCC’s Tutorial Center.” Burniske was one of eleven BCC tutors nominated for the award. BCC tutees were invited to submit nominations based on tutors clarity of instruction, supportive attitude, number of tutees served, and reliability.
Burniske, a graduate of BCC, earned a BS at MCLA with a degree in math. He started tutoring at BCC in the fall of 1997. During this spring semester, he served 19 students in a total of 94 tutoring sessions. In addition to the many hours he spends with students each week at BCC, he works at Berkshire Insurance Group.
Other tutors nominated for the award were Haley Blonder, Ray Duryea, Amanda Hunt, Rachel Kuni, Mr. Maudin, Tom Prendergast, Bob Wibby, Peggy Williams, Glenn Grachis, and Peter Loboda. |
