PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The Morningside Initiative Steering Committee and the Morningside Community School PTO in conjunction with the Pittsfield Police and Fire Departments are hosting the fifth annual “Morningside Pride Night” on Tuesday June 16, 2009 at Morningside Community School from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
This event is designed to bring out the residents and people who work in the area to take pride in our neighborhood and to aid in the revitalization of the Morningside Initiative area.
During the event there will be demonstrations, activities and fingerprinting for the kids. We will have information tables in the gym to give residents of the neighborhood the opportunity to learn about local resources and to benefit from the various services they provide. Berkshire Health Systems Community Outreach Van will be at Pride Night from 5pm to 8pm offering Health Insurance Enrollment and Blood Pressure Screenings.
This is a free event and will include a march around the Morningside School Block (Cherry Street, Lincoln Street, Second Street and Burbank Street) to show that this neighborhood and its residents will not tolerate crime and that they are proud to live and/or work in the Morningside area.
