WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The David & Joyce Milne Public Library in Williamstown will host a program based on H.G. Wells novel War of the Worlds on Thursday July 2ns at 7:00 p.m. Part of series called “Verne & Wells: Men Before Their Time” this reading and lecture will ask the age-old question “Is there other life in the universe?”
This was the first novel to describe the invasion of our planet by alien life. This book would also introduce the idea of mechanized warfare and possible human extinction that a famous radio program and films have been adapted from.
A new exhibit of 3 dimensional models and images from the many books including War of the Worlds, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Paris in the 20th Century and The Time Machine, will be on display the month of July.
All of the dates, programs and locations are available on the library’s website at www.milnelibrary.org.
These programs are all free and provided by the generous funding provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
